Alex is a Drum Circle Facilitator, hand drummer, hand pan player, fire circle facilitator, organic Grounds Manager, workshop leader, primitive skills practitioner, fly fisherman and woodworker–to name a few skills. At home in nature he spends much of his time outdoors learning all that he can about the world around us. He has been on a drumming journey spanning two decades. He has a friendly and disarming approach to teaching others and most importantly–he loves doing it and it shows.

Alex draws from an early exposure to music and performance. He has led Drum Circles for shamanic and healing events for over 20 years and has co-facilitated drumming, primitive skills and “Wyldecrafting” events with his wife Gretchen for over 20 years. He loves sharing his creative talents with others in a fun and adaptive atmosphere.

Alex is an intuitive hand drummer and percussionist with over 25 years experience. He is a certified Sound Healing Practitioner and studied under Tom Llewellen of SoulRemember. He is a certified Drum Circle Leadership Facilitator and studied under Jim Donovan of Donovan Health and Jim Donovan Music. He is also a Registered and Accredited Holistic Health Practitioner and Registered and Accredited Metaphysician.

His loving energy vibrates through his love of nature, earthy spirituality and clear vision. His amazing timing and skill in nature provides Spiral Journey with amazing photography and time lapse videos. Alex has a keen eye for beauty in nature which makes him such a great guide for our Nature Retreats.

In his personal life he is an avid organic gardener with a penchant for growing amazing veggies. You will most likely find him outdoors exploring and being amazed by nature, or maybe working in his greenhouse, photographing sunsets, digging in the garden or playing the hand pan.
